Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs
With the summer getting hotter, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs said on Tuesday that outdoor work from 11:30 am to 3 pm in Qatar will remain banned from June 15 to August 31.
In a circular published online, the ministry said outside work done under the sun or in open workplaces should not be longer than five hours in the morning.
“The ministry requests owners of institutions and companies who are subject to provisions of Labour Law promulgated by Law No 14 of 2004 to comply with Ministerial Resolution No (16) of 2007 to specify working hours in exposed/outdoor places during summer from 15 June to 31 August,” ministry said in a tweet.
The ministry said its inspectors will conduct field visits to worksites to ensure compliance with the ban and warned of strict action against violators.
