Samsung has extended the availability of some of its applications to all Windows-powered PCs, including those from other manufacturers, after previously restricting them to Galaxy Book devices.
This shift comes as a significant change, addressing a previous limitation that affected Samsung phone users who relied on non-Samsung computers.
Among the newly accessible apps is Samsung Notes, which can now be used on any Windows-based PC, regardless of the brand. Other applications, including Samsung Gallery and Samsung Account, are now functional across both Windows 10 and Windows 11, enhancing accessibility for a broader user base.
Samsung Notes is currently available for free download from the Microsoft Store, though users must also install Samsung Account to activate it. While a warning message appears on non-Samsung devices indicating that the app is optimized for Galaxy Book, many users have reported smooth functionality on other computers.
However, Samsung Find, the app designed to locate lost devices, remains unavailable for non-Samsung PCs, indicating that some services may continue to be exclusive to the company’s ecosystem.
