‘Stand With Palestine’: Education City Stadium to host star-studded fundraiser on December 15

Former and current football stars are set to come together at the Education City Stadium on December 15 for a charity match aimed at supporting Palestinians affected by the Israeli aggression in Gaza. The "Stand With Palestine" initiative, organized by Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Academy Doha, was launched by students including Al Mayassa bint Tamim Al Thani, Maryam Ahmed Al Hajri, Nayef Rashid Al Kubaisi, Mahdi Hussein Al Ahbabi, and Asmaa Al Jaida.

The charity match, featuring teams named "Qatar" and "Palestine," will involve the local community in solidarity events. Tickets, priced at QR25, are available on the Q-Tickets website, with all proceeds dedicated to humanitarian relief and support efforts in Gaza. Over 100 students from Qatar Academy Doha, trained by the Asian Football Confederation, will volunteer for the event.

The match, consisting of two halves of 30 minutes each, kicks off at 7 pm, preceded by pre-match activities, including musical performances and a drone show. Notable figures, including former and current Qatari and international players, media personalities, social media influencers, and students from Qatar Academy Doha and the Palestinian School, will participate.

Former Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika and former Oman goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi are confirmed participants, with additional football stars to be announced. Donations will be collected during the match in cooperation with Qatar Charity, and the amount raised will be announced during the event.

Mahdi Ahbab, a student at Qatar Academy Doha, expressed hope for a full Education City Stadium, emphasizing that the event would not only be a match but also feature various entertainment activities for spectators. Maryam Al Hajri, another student involved in the initiative, highlighted the importance of supporting Palestinians in crisis and conveying solidarity through positive actions.
