11th Halal Qatar Festival to kick off at Katara

The activities of the 11th edition of Halal Qatar Festival, organised by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), will kick off Thursday and runs through Feb. 24, in the southern side of Katara.

Including two events -- Al Mazain and Al Mazad Auction, in addition to a variety of accompanying educational and entertainment activities, the festival comes within Katara's strategy to preserve all branches of the Qatari heritage and promote it in the hearts of young people.

The festival also attracts sheep owners inside and outside Qatar, and brings them the benefit that is represented in the exchange of experiences and the diversity of supply and demand in the different halal types.

President of the festival's organizing committee Salman Al Nuaimi said this edition is distinguished by the addition of a new award which was allocated to each category separately.
