Al-Aqsa Mosque
Amid the stringent military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities to restrict access to the mosque, 60,000 Palestinians performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers on the eighth day of the holy month of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem.
The department highlighted that most of the worshipers were residents of the holy city or from within the territories of 1948, while the Israeli occupation authorities deprived thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank provinces of reaching Jerusalem to perform prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile, local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces obstructed the arrival of worshipers to perform the prayers through the Damascus and the Lion Gates and engaged in vetting their identities, resulting in arresting some of young Palestinians and preventing them from entering the mosque.
