Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Opens Doha Forum 2024

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani graciously inaugurated the 22nd edition of the Doha Forum 2024 under the theme "The Innovation Imperative" at the Sheraton Doha Hotel this morning.

The opening ceremony was attended by HE President of the Republic of Senegal Bassirou Diomaye Faye, HE President of the Dominican Republic Luis Rodolfo Abinader, HE President of the Republic of Namibia Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, HE Chairwoman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Zeljka Cvijanovic, HE President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame and HE President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera.

Also in attendance were HE Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, HE Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Ralph Gonsalves, HE Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley, HE President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis, HE Secretary-General of the GCC Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, as well as heads of delegations from brotherly and friendly countries.

The ceremony was also attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, a number of ministers, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State of Qatar, senior officials, academics, policymakers, parliamentarians, intellectuals, business leaders, media professionals, and representatives of regional and international organizations and civil society groups.

During the event, HH the Amir presented the Doha Forum Award to several recipients, including Wael Al Dahdouh and Carmen Joukhadar, correspondents for Al Jazeera Network, independent photojournalist Moataz Azaiza, AFP journalists Dylan Collins and Christina Assi, Director of Arman FM and Arakizia FM Sadaf Popalzai.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani delivered a speech on the occasion.

HE First Lady of the United States of America Dr. Jill Biden also delivered a keynote address.
