Amir of Qatar Receives Ceremonial Welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, was accorded a grand ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan upon his arrival in India on Monday. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly received the Qatari leader, underscoring the strong and growing ties between India and Qatar.

His Highness the Amir was welcomed by President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi as part of the official reception. As he entered the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises, his motorcade was escorted by Presidential Guard cavalrymen, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. In honor of his visit and the enduring friendship between the two nations, a 21-gun salute was fired.

During the ceremony, the national anthems of Qatar and India were played, marking the significance of the diplomatic engagement. His Highness the Amir then inspected the Guard of Honour before engaging with senior Indian officials, including ministers, high-ranking military and security personnel.

The reception was also attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, along with members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir. The visit reaffirms the strong bilateral relations between India and Qatar, fostering diplomatic and economic cooperation.
