Pedestrian bridge
Public Works Authority Ashghal will install a pedestrian bridge across Al Markhiyya Street between Umm Lekhba and Madinat Khalifa North.Â
It will also build an underpass beneath Al Shamal Rd between Umm Lekhba and Al Gharrafa.Â
This is to enhance pedestrian movement and ensure safety for those residing in the vicinity and also the mall customers in the area.

To enable the installation of the pedestrian bridge metal structure, eight-hour road closure will be in place on Al Markhiya Street between Dahl Al Hamam Intersection and Umm Lekhba Interchange towards Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor and Al Shamal Rd, on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 2 am to 10 am. Â
During the closure period, road users heading from Al Markhiya Street towards Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor through Umm Lekhba Underpass and Al Shamal Road can use Al Khafji Street and Duhail Interchange to reach their destinations.
