Aspire Academy Students
Aspire Academy students in athletics organized summer camps abroad in a number of European countries, in preparation for participating in upcoming tournaments, including the Arab Youth Championship for under 18 years, which will start on Sep. 8 in Amman.
Many of the Academy's student-athletes and alumni have achieved success in major events such as the Arab Athletics Championships, the Pan-Arab Games and the Asian Athletics Championships.
Existing student-athletes will gain more experience and exposure to different sporting schools by seeing three graduates selected to represent the State of Qatar to compete in the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. They are Bassem Hemeida in the 400-meter hurdles, Moaaz Ibrahim in the discus throw, and world high jump champion Mutaz Barshim.
The busy summer saw Aspire Academy take part in 15 other competitions across Europe including Hungary, Poland, UK, Germany, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands. Aspire's student athletes also spent time in training camps during their overseas camps.
