UK supplying Ukraine with anti-tank weapons
The British government announced today that it will send more weapons and military equipment to Ukraine to help it confront the Russian military escalation against its lands.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a statement issued by his office that he had agreed, in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to provide the Ukrainian army with armored vehicles, drones and anti-tank weapons.
Britain began training more than twenty members of the Ukrainian army last week in Britain to use 120 armored vehicles that Britain will send to Ukraine during the coming period.
The total British military aid to Ukraine since the start of the military operation on the 24th of last February amounted to about 450 million Pound Sterling.
Earlier this month, Britain announced the allocation of an additional 100 million Pound Sterling in military aid to Ukraine, which includes more than 800 NLAW anti-tank missiles, additional anti-tank systems, ammunition, and Starstreak air defense systems.
The British Prime Minister announced two days ago his country's intention to reopen the British Embassy in Kyiv this week, after it was closed for more than two months prior to the start of the operation, "to show Britain's solidarity and support for the Ukrainian people''
