HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaei issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to curb COVID-19, and the Cabinet expressed its satisfaction with the progress of the vaccination process against the virus, as the total of vaccine doses that have been used to vaccinate the population exceeded 4 million doses. The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic.
Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First - Approval of draft decision to amend some provisions of Resolution No. 3 of 2003 on the Establishment of a Permanent Committee for the Management of Abu Samra Border Crossing.
This Committee, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, is concerned with several specialties, including following up the progress of work at the border, supervising all the employees and border post staff and working towards eliminating obstacles and impediments that hinder the proper performance of work at the border post.
Second - Approval of draft decision of the Minister of Finance regarding distinctive marks for excise goods.
Third - Approval of:
1- project of a program between the State of Qatar's Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fields of culture and arts for the years 2022-2023.
2- project of the first executive program in the field of sports between the State of Qatar's Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the years 2022-2023.
Fourth - the Cabinet reviewed a report of the Grievance Committee at Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) for the period between July 1 to Dec. 31 of 2020, and took the appropriate decision in its regard.
This committee, established at QFMA, headed by one of the presidents of the Court of Appeal, with membership of two judges of the Court of Appeal and two experts in the field of securities transactions, is concerned with deciding on grievances against some of the decisions issued by the Authority.
