Chefs in Residence 2025 Launched with Chef Fadi Kattan The Modern Voice of Palestinian Cuisine

QC+ Hospitality of QC Enterprises (QC+), a Strategic and Creative Collective transforming culture into meaningful experiences, launched the Chefs in Residence 2025 program - an initiative curated for Qatar Creates, with three sold-out events led by acclaimed Franco-Palestinian chef, Fadi Kattan.

A flagship initiative, Chefs in Residence brings renowned chefs from around the world to CafĂ© #999 at Doha’s Fire Station Gallery. By inviting them to share their stories through narrative-led dinners and cooking masterclasses, the programme seeks to inspire cultural dialogue through the universal language of food and drink.

Launched as part of the Qatar Creates Spring/Summer Season, the residency opened with "Flavours of Palestine: Reimagined" a masterclass led by Chef Fadi Kattan. Participants explored the soul of Palestinian cuisine, learning classic dishes from Kattan’s repertoire. There followed two exclusive dinners, each set against a backdrop of powerful visuals by award-winning Bethlehem photographer Elias Halibi, and atmospheric soundscapes from the Palestinian Sound Archive. At the centre of this Palestinian cultural celebration was Chef Kattan, who guided diners through a personal journey of memory and place, sharing stories from his homeland alongside a menu that paid homage to Palestinian cuisine while using locally-sourced ingredients. Each dish told a story of home, memory, resilience, and reinvention, with highlights including Hamour cured in Dead Sea salt and za’atar; vibrant and herbaceous Maftoul Salad; and Kattan’s signature Kharouf Mashwi: slow-cooked lamb shank and rich jus infused with fenugreek, sumac, Arabic gum, and sour cherry seed.

Extending the narrative beyond the plate, the food was complimented by a series of drinks made in collaboration with beverage specialist Anna Patrowicz. Bespoke creations included ‘Trails of the Dead Sea’, made with apricot, melon, and salt harvested from the Dead Sea, and ‘Zikrayat Tareeq Al Bahar’, inspired by Gaza’s historical role as a key stop on ancient spice trade routes.

“Food is one of the most powerful ways we can share who we are,” said Fadi Kattan. “It was an honour to bring the spirit of Palestine to Doha through our food, and the memories and stories and memories behind it.” Yves Godard,  QC+ Director for F&B Operations and Commercial Leasing, added: “Fadi Kattan brought authenticity, generosity, and depth to this launch. His presence sets the tone for what Chefs in Residence aims to be: a global platform for culinary storytelling rooted in heritage and cultural exchange.”

QC+ is dedicated to transforming cultural heritage into immersive, meaningful experiences that drive engagement, dialogue, and global connection.
Chef Kattan’s ĂĄ la carte menu will remain available at CafĂ© #999 until 18 May, and is also available for delivery via Talabat, Rafeeq and Deliveroo.
