City Gallery at Grand Cruise Terminal
The City Gallery at the Grand Cruise Terminal, situated at the Old Doha Port, is now open for public viewing on a daily basis.
Visiting hours are from 12pm to 9pm from Saturday to Thursday, and from 2pm to 9pm on Fridays, as announced by Mwani Qatar on its social media platforms.
Upon entering the gallery, visitors are immediately captivated by a stunning LED map of Qatar adorning the floor.
This gallery provides a unique fusion of visual and aquatic experiences. Notably, it houses an impressive aquarium featuring a diverse array of aquatic species, including Honeycomb Stingray, Golden Trevally, Sergeant Majoris, Yellowtail Fusilier, Yellowbar Angelfish, Brown Spotted Reef Cod, Cowtail Stingray, Whitespotted Eagle Ray, Bluespotted Stingray, Blacktip Reef Shark, Pennant Coralfish or Longfin Bannerfish, Broomtail Wrasse, Turkeyfish, Twobar Seabream, and Cobia.
Furthermore, the gallery offers an immersive experience through audiovisual presentations displayed on screens throughout the venue. These presentations offer a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Qatari culture, showcasing images of the country's breathtaking landscapes and iconic tourist destinations like the Corniche.
A noteworthy addition to the gallery is a framed quote from Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, conveying a profound message of unity and hospitality: "No matter how diverse our nationalities, religions, and ideas are, our duty is to overcome obstacles, extend a hand of friendship, build bridges of understanding and celebrate our common humanity, and on behalf of my people and on my own behalf, I invite you all to come to Qatar and enjoy this unique tournament, you are all welcome." This quote was delivered during his address at the 77th United Nations General Assembly in 2022, less than two months before Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
