Cold weather ahead: Get ready for colder temperature in Qatar!

Start getting out the thick jackets, scarves, and coats because according to Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) over the next couple of days there will be a “noticeable drop” in the temperature with expected strong winds.

"Weather charts indicate that the country will be affected by fresh to strong northwesterly winds from Wednesday night to Friday (January 20-22), with wind speeds ranging from 15-25 knots and gusting to 35 knots at times in some areas," said the department. The highs are expected to range between 18-24 C and with lows ranging between 8-16 C, with the possibility for the "real feel” to be lower than that. 

The department warns that the temperature might be lower in the southern and external areas of Qatar, which could lead to low visibility (less than 2km). Additionally, they called on people to avoid any marine activities for the next few days, and to stay updated.
