The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has signed a funding agreement with the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS).

Under the agreement, DAAM will provide financial support to QCS's Cancer Patients Treatment Fund, in addition to funding awareness and prevention campaigns and programs.

This agreement underscores the leading role played by DAAM and the companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange in supporting the social and charitable initiatives, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The financing aims to strengthen QCS's capacity to provide assistance to cancer patients in need, covering costs such as medical examinations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and specialized surgeries.

Furthermore, the awareness and prevention project will enable the Society to implement media campaigns, workshops, and community initiatives that highlight the importance of early detection and encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles.

This agreement is considered a continuation of the ongoing efforts between DAAM and QCS. The fund previously supported the World Colorectal Cancer Conference in 2013, as well as cancer patient treatment initiatives in 2020, underscoring its continued commitment to health-focused programs that improve quality of life within the community.

On this occasion, HE Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al-Thani expressed his gratitude for the support, saying: "We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to DAAM for this generous contribution, which reflects a longstanding strategic relationship that has had a significant impact on sustaining our treatment and awareness programs".

His Excellency stated: "This support will help save lives, alleviate patients’ suffering, and enhance the Society’s ability to disseminate prevention and early detection messages to the widest segments of society".

He emphasized that the Funding embodies the spirit of collaboration between national institutions and supports the Society’s vision for a cancer-aware community and a better

quality of life for patients.

It also aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 goals in human development and public health. Dr. Khalid concluded by calling on all national entities, in both the public and private sectors, to support impactful and sustainable health programs.

His Excellency highlighted that the fight against cancer is a community responsibility that requires collective efforts.

Since its inception in 2010, DAAM has laid the foundation stone for many vital projects and initiatives in the social, sport and cultural fields, and the contributions of companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange are considered among the fund's most important financial resources, making them an essential partner in achieving sustainable community development.
