DIMDEX: One of the World's Most Prominent Military Events in Security, Defense Field

HE Commander of the Qatari Amiri Naval Forces Staff Maj. Gen. (Navy) Abdullah Hassan Al Sulaiti affirmed that the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2024) is one of the most prominent military events specialized in the field of maritime security and defense in the world.

At the opening of the eighth edition of the DIMDEX 2024, the Commander of the Qatari Amiri Naval Forces expressed his gratitude for the unlimited support by the wise leadership for this pioneering international event as well as for the sublime directives that had a direct impact on continuing the success of this major military event, pointing out that organizing this exhibition comes within the framework of the vision of the wise leadership and the state's efforts and contributions to enhancing security and stability in the region due to its significant impact on societies and economies.

The adoption of the DIMDEX 2024 theme under "Igniting the future of maritime security and beyond" reflects the state's firm vision and its firm commitment to strengthening maritime security and defense, which is one of the most important factors and components of stability in view of its profound impact on all fields, especially economic ones.

He highlighted that the upcoming Middle East Naval Commanders Conference will focus on "Economic Growth Prospects Amidst Security Challenges and Their Global Impact." The conference aims to tackle current global challenges, particularly those related to maritime and global security, and their far-reaching implications on the economy and developmental trajectories. The focus will be on developing effective frameworks and solutions to address these challenges.

His Excellency noted that DIMDEX has developed significantly since its launch in 2008, and has become one of the most important regular events on the global defense agenda. Today, it represents an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen relations, he said, expressing his aspiration for a new and fruitful edition that will produce positive results that meet Qatar's aspirations and ambitions.

Under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Qatar Armed Forces organizes DIMDEX 2024 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Running until March 6, 2024, the event showcases the latest defense innovations and technology in defense and maritime security capabilities, various modern equipment, ships equipped with defense and communications systems, radars and other maritime industries and services offered by local, regional and international companies.
