The Dates Festival in Qatar is set to start on July 27 and will continue until August 12, 2022, according to the Al-Raya Newspaper. Many date farm owners have expressed their readiness to take part in the 7th edition of the annual local dates festival.

Qatar is anticipating a huge demand for dates this year as it hosts the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022. Dates are some of the most preferred gift items by the residents of the GCC countries.

The local date festival is held annualy in the State and it aims to improve the local marketing of Qatari agricultural products. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) believes in the importance of its marketing in improving the quality of agricultural production and reducing wastage, which creates increased demand for it, and contributes to motivating farmers to use advanced modern technology in the agricultural field and to increase and raise production quality.
