In order to allow falcons to reproduce in the wild and aid in the preservation of the birds, falconers were requested to assist with a campaign and donate some of their falcons.

According to the Al Qannas Qatari Society, more than 50 falcons will be released into the wild as part of Qatar's efforts to protect and breed the birds in the wild.

The releasing of the falcons into the wild is an important step in the region's effort to preserve the iconic bird. The sixth campaign ran from March 10 to March 25 at the society's headquarters at Katara - Cultural Village.

The group brings the donated falcons in batches to the Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital after receiving them to have the birds examined by veterinarians to ensure they are healthy and ready for release into the wild.

Participating in the initiative and donating some of their best birds were numerous Qatari falconers.
