For the second consecutive year, H.H. Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), has led the launch of the 'Eid Gifts' campaign. This initiative is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and Syria by offering immediate and practical solutions during the holy month of Ramadan.
Organized in collaboration with the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), the campaign focuses on collecting brand-new clothes and school bags for those in need. Running from March 5 to March 20, designated collection points have been set up across Qatar to facilitate donations. These locations include Education City (Minaretein Center, Al-Mujadilah Center & Mosque), Hyatt Plaza, Al Khor Mall, Place Vendôme Mall, three Mayoral stores, and nine LuLu Hypermarkets.
Community members are encouraged to participate by purchasing and donating new clothing and school bags at participating retail locations. Donations can be made directly at the cashier, with stores offering significant discounts on select items to encourage contributions. Beyond addressing immediate needs, this initiative fosters a spirit of generosity and community solidarity, reflecting the values of compassion and charity that define Ramadan.
Mohamed Al Kubaisi, Acting CEO of EAA Foundation, emphasized the campaign's ongoing commitment to improving the lives of children in Gaza and Syria. “As we embark on the second year of the 'Eid Gifts' campaign, our dedication to making a meaningful difference remains steadfast. This initiative is more than just giving; it represents our collective commitment to humanity and the welfare of children, strengthened by the generosity inspired by Ramadan. With the invaluable support of our partners, we continue to extend hope and solidarity. The kindness and generosity of our communities during this sacred time will enable us to bring joy and dignity to these children, aligning perfectly with the core values of Ramadan.”
QRCS Secretary-General Faisal Al-Emadi also praised the campaign and its impact. “Our partnership with EAA Foundation builds upon past successes, reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, especially in Gaza and Syria. QRCS is intensifying relief efforts to ease their suffering and bring smiles to the faces of children. We trust that the generous people of Qatar will come forward to support this campaign, ensuring its continuity in the years to come. Our ultimate goal is to create a safe and dignified environment for children in need.”
