Karwa Academy
Mowasalat (Karwa) has officially inaugurated its new Karwa Academy, previously known as Karwa Driving School, in a ceremony held at Karwa Headquarters. The event was attended by distinguished guests, media representatives, and key stakeholders from the transport and education sectors.
During his address, Faisal Al Nuaimi, Director of Karwa Academy, highlighted the significant advancements in technology and new regulations that have influenced their decision to transform the driving school into an academy. “We have established a technical training center equipped with cutting-edge technology such as VR and other simulators, along with online platforms developed in partnership with international experts,” he stated.
Al Nuaimi explained that while the past focused on basic driving training and licensing, the new academy offers a variety of training programs tailored to meet specific needs. “Welcome to a new chapter at Karwa Academy, where tradition meets innovation. Our focus on enhancing customer experience through agile and responsive training solutions is stronger than ever. We are dedicated to empowering our clients and staff with the skills needed for today’s dynamic transportation and logistics market, ensuring safety and professionalism in every service we offer,” he added.
Karwa Academy has become a regional destination, attracting participants from Oman and engineers from Alfardan who joined a technical training session three weeks prior. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the academy’s training is essential not just for technicians and engineers but also for drivers, especially in dealing with high voltage systems in electric or hybrid vehicles.
Under its new identity, Karwa Academy plans to expand its offerings to both business-to-business and business-to-consumer segments, providing advanced training solutions to meet the evolving needs of the transport industry. The event also marked the unveiling of a new logo and branding, symbolizing the academy’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
The academy now offers enhanced capacities through IMI certification and custom-made training solutions tailored to the country’s needs in the field of electric vehicles. It is committed to delivering top-tier education through comprehensive training programs such as defensive driving, certificate of professional competency, and emergency response driver training, in collaboration with renowned organizations like the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA).
Karwa Academy also provides off-road training programs and ADR training for the safe transport of dangerous goods, in line with MoT directives and regulations. Additionally, it offers license training for disabled candidates, empowering individuals with disabilities to become responsible and safe drivers.
The launch event included a tour of Karwa Academy’s state-of-the-art facilities and the IMI certified Training Centre, where guests experienced the cutting-edge training methodologies and equipment now available to students and professionals aiming to advance their skills in transportation safety and operations.
As Karwa Academy embarks on this new journey, it remains dedicated to its vision of being a leader in safety and professional training, raising the standards of transportation education in Qatar.
