Envoy: High-Level Visits Highlight Importance of Relationship

Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Qatar H E Nicholaos T Manolis

Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Qatar, H.E. Nicholaos T. Manolis, stated that the visit by Amir H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani highlights the importance both countries place on their bilateral relationship and their fruitful cooperation in various fields.

In a statement to QNA, he emphasized the significance of this official visit, taking place just six months after President of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Nikos Christodoulides, visited Doha. This timing underscores the value both nations assign to their relationship across all sectors. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples, alongside other topics of shared interest. Additionally, agreements and MoUs will be signed.

Ambassador Manolis noted that the frequent visits between officials from both countries, to Nicosia and Doha, at high and highest levels, reflect the robust state of their bilateral relations and the shared concern for issues affecting the Gulf and the Middle East. He highlighted that Cyprus, the closest EU country to the Gulf, enjoys a daily direct flight from Doha, further strengthening their connection.
