Foreign Minister meets Syrian opposition party officials

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today with a delegation from the Syrian opposition, on the sidelines of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Syrian opposition delegation included President of the National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces of Syria HE Salem Al Meslet, and HE head of the Syrian opposition delegation to the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly Anas Al Abda.

His Excellency reiterated the State of Qatar's position of having a political resolution to the Syrian Crisis in line with Geneva I statement and UN Security Council resolution 2254, and stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire that contributes to facilitating the delivery of aid inside Syria.
