Qatar Government Offices Reopen After Four-Day National Mourning Period

Government ministries and public institutions across Qatar resumed normal operations on Sunday, July 19, 2026, following the conclusion of the four-day national mourning period observed in honor of the late His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Official work had been suspended from July 13 to July 18, allowing the nation to pay its respects and commemorate the remarkable legacy of the Father Amir, whose leadership played a transformative role in shaping modern Qatar.

As employees returned to offices on Sunday, government services and public institutions resumed their regular schedules. The return to work marks a gradual transition back to daily life while the nation continues to remember the Father Amir's lasting contributions to Qatar's development, prosperity, and global standing.

The period of mourning united citizens and residents in honoring a leader whose vision helped establish Qatar as a regional and international leader across sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, diplomacy, and economic development.

While normal government operations have resumed, the spirit of remembrance remains strong, reflecting the profound respect and gratitude the nation holds for the Father Amir's enduring legacy.
