HH the Amir Sword Equestrian Festival 2025
HH the Amir Sword Equestrian Festival 2025 commenced on Thursday at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab (indoor and outdoor), and will continue until Saturday.
The event features 194 riders from 35 countries, with prize money exceeding 718,000 euros.
In the first dressage round held in the indoor arena, Qatari rider Jassim Al Kuwari on "Jack Sparrow" secured first place, while British rider Jessica Walden on "San Francisco" took second place, and Asma Yasser on "Qatar" placed third.
In the one-star category for the 120 cm round, rider Fahad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani on "Kiara" claimed first place, followed by Fares Saad Al Qahtani on "Hidiene" in second place, and Moroccan rider Ashraf Ouala on "Diamond" in third place.
In the three-star 135 cm category, which saw participation from over 80 riders, Fahad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani emerged victorious on "Amperie de Beaufort." Kuwaiti rider Ali Al Kharafi on "Karaat" placed second, while Saudi rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly on "Atome Des Etisses" took third place.
In the three-star 145 cm category, which included 40 riders, Austrian rider Gerfried Puck on "Equitron" secured first place, followed by Saudi rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly on "Pegasus" in second place, and another Saudi rider, Khaled Al Mobty, on "Davenport" in third place.
The "Future Riders" 60 cm competition witnessed strong performances, with Salman Faisal Al Marri winning first place on "Sita," Tamim Fahd Al Marri taking second place on "Peter." The event saw the participation of nearly 40 riders, reflecting the strong competition and the aim of Al Shaqab and the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlonton (QEFMP) organize these championships alongside major show jumping events. The winners were awarded by Lahdan Albuainain, the event coordinator at the Al Shaqab Board of Directors.
In the one-star 110 cm category, Qatari rider Mohammed Yousuf Al Jabir took first place, followed by Saudi rider Fahad Aljuaid in second place, and Qatari rider Mohammed Faisal Al Marri in third place.
This year's edition is organized by the QEFMP, Al Shaqab, and the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC). The festival is officially sponsored by Doha Bank, Al Abdulghani Motors, Zabarjad Jewelry, Visit Qatar, and Vodafone, in partnership with Qatar Airways as the official airline partner, Al Kass Sports Channels as the broadcast partner, SOCAST as the social media partner, and Saheel Company as the media partner.
