Raising the concerns of Indian citizens in the country, the Embassy of India in Qatar makes pathway to ease their disquiets regarding post-travel quarantine requirements. During an online meeting with representatives of bodies affiliated with the embassy, India’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal informed that the embassy has raised demands with the relevant authorities for all vaccinated individuals arriving to Qatar from India to be exempted from mandatory hotel quarantine. Â
At present all individuals travelling from India along with other five Asian countries with high-risk covid infection are required to complete a compulsory 10-day hotel quarantine upon their arrival to Doha, whether or not they are vaccinated.Â
The Indian Cultural Centre President P N Baburajan, who also participated in this virtual meeting highlighted that the expenses and cost due to the hotel quarantine has become a major obstacle for many families from going home and organisations in bringing new employees.Â
He further added that the involvement of the embassy officials in facilitating the lifting of quarantine process for all vaccinated Indians was highlighted during the meeting, ensuring that the embassy continuously works together in supporting the Indian community and pointing out their concerns.
