Jupiter meets Aldebaran Star
Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has announced that the giant of the solar system, Jupiter, will align with the Aldebaran Star in the skies over Qatar and the Arab region early Tuesday morning.
According to Dr. Bashir Marzouk, an astronomical expert at QCH, Qatar residents will be able to observe Jupiter and Aldebaran above the eastern horizon starting at 2:27 am on Tuesday, continuing until just before sunrise at 4:51 am, Doha local time. He noted that planetary conjunctions within the solar system will occur 11 times in 2024, with the next conjunction between Mars and Uranus on Monday, July 15. Dr. Marzouk emphasized that this phenomenon offers a great opportunity for observing and tracking Jupiter and Aldebaran at their closest point in the sky.
Furthermore, the event underscores the precision of astronomical calculations in predicting the orbits and movements of celestial bodies, especially within the solar system. It provides astronomy enthusiasts in Qatar and the Arab region with an excellent chance to explore and observe celestial objects visible in the night sky.
