Dessert for Valentine Day
LPM Restaurant & Bar Doha, the French Riviera-inspired restaurant group, has introduced an exclusive dessert for the day of love, the Tarte Tropézienne à la Fleur d’Oranger. The limited edition dessert is LPM Restaurant & Bar’s contemporary take on one of the French Riviera’s most loved sweet delicacies, the Tarte Tropézienne, originally inspired by Brigitte Bardot.Â
Â
Known for being loved and adored around the world, Brigitte Bardot famously lent her voice on the original version of ‘Je t’aime… Moi non plus’ (French for ‘I love you… me neither’). The song, known now as one of the most iconic love songs of all time, was written by Serge Gainsbourg in 1967 for Brigitte Bardot herself, making her the ultimate symbol of devotion of the era.
Â
Developed in the 1950s, the Tarte Tropézienne quickly gained adoration after Brigitte Bardot discovered it whilst filming ‘And God Created Woman’ in St Tropez, where Bardot herself gave the dessert its name. Pastry chef Alexandre Mika’s original creation comprised of a delightfully light brioche sliced in half, with an orange blossom and vanilla creme filling, dotted with pearl sugar. Since then, the Tarte Tropézienne has become a symbol of the city and one of the most celebrated sweet treats in the Riviera and beyond.Â
Â
The song pairs beautifully with the Tarte Tropézienne à la Fleur d’Oranger on lovers day, creating a magical setting to be whisked away to St Tropez for an evening at LPM.
Â
Available at LPM Restaurant & Bar globally from 14th - 29th February, the Tarte Tropézienne à la Fleur d’Oranger consists of a buttery Brioche filled with Orange Blossom Diplomat Cream, topped with a Craquelin and Pink Pralines.Â
Â
The dessert is perfectly complemented by a Cognac & Champagne Colada, also on the beverage list exclusively for V-Day - a refreshingly sparkling cocktail with pineapple and nutty flavours, making it slightly sweet yet perfectly balanced by the acidity of the champagne and verjus.Â
Â
LPM Restaurant & Bar’s unmatched dining experience offers a taste of the Côte d’Azur in the heart of Doha, offering a fresh seasonal menu with dishes including Burrata et Truffes Noire, Burrata with Black Truffle, Tartare de Thon, Tuna Tartare, alongside signature dishes such as the Côtelettes d’Agneau Vivienne, Marinated Lamb Cutlets with Olive, Aubergine Caviar and Pine Nut, and Risotto au Homard, Lobster Risotto. With thoughtful, Belle Époque-influenced interiors, the venue is renowned for its exceptional ambience fit for a romantic evening with a significant other or a vibrant night out with friends.
