LifeHub promotes Health and Sustainability at Expo 2023 Doha

The LifeHub Pavilion, hosted by Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) at Expo 2023 Doha, offers visitors a distinctive visual experience while promoting awareness about the vital role of environmental protection and the creation of a healthier, sustainable future.

Additionally, the pavilion highlights the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving progress towards a more sustainable future. Located within the Innovation Centre of the International Zone at Expo 2023 Doha, Al Bidda Park, LifeHub is presented in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

During a recent event, the Minister of Municipality, H E Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, and the Secretary-General of Expo 2023 Doha, H E Mohammed Ali Al Khoori, joined diplomats in an educational tour of the LifeHub. In a media statement, H E Al Attiyah commended Expo 2023 Doha and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar for their efforts in raising awareness about climate change and advancing the sustainability agenda.

He said, “Qatar remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing sustainability practices.

“Leveraging technological advancements is paramount in driving us towards a more sustainable future and realising the Qatar 2030 vision.”

According to H E Al Khoori, working with the prestigious Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar has been an honor.

“We take pride in showcasing the technological advancements in the AI and its extensive capabilities to our visitors. As we confront a critical period in addressing climate change, we are committed to exploring all available options to mitigate these challenges effectively,” he added.

“What we want to demonstrate here is everything together in a large biodiversity model,” said Dr. Javaid Sheikh, dean of WCM-Q, while speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event.  “Just remember there is one unit – the life, the environment, the plants, animals, human all together – we have to live together in a way that we sustain each other,” he added.

The LifeHub pavilion also illustrates methods for individuals to minimize their carbon footprint for a more sustainable lifestyle. It educates on adopting a diet that is both healthy and environmentally friendly. Additionally, the pavilion showcases how AI can be employed in healthcare, energy, transportation, agriculture, and various sectors to significantly enhance sustainability initiatives and preserve natural habitats. Enjoyed by both local and international visitors, the LifeHub pavilion will remain open until March 28, 2024.
