Munich Security Conference
HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi participated in a session at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) on Qatar's key role in promoting international peace and stability.
During the session, HE Dr. Al Khulaifi emphasized Qatar's steadfast commitment to dialogue and the peaceful resolution of international conflicts, always striving to provide a neutral platform for disputing parties.
Regarding the Syrian crisis, HE Dr. Al Khulaifi explained that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani visited Syria to enhance strategic cooperation with Syria as an important state in the region, after years of suffering by the Syrian people under the previous regime's oppression.
In reference to Qatar's efforts in Gaza, HE Dr. Al Khulaifi underscored the ongoing monitoring of the ceasefire agreement's implementation by both parties, despite the lack of trust and the escalating humanitarian crisis.
His Excellency stressed that any mediation faces significant obstacles unless there is a strong international commitment to peaceful solutions, hoping that both parties will continue to fulfill their obligations as per the agreement.
On the subject of international law, HE Dr. Al Khulaifi warned that the increasing challenges faced by international judicial platforms threaten global stability and open the door to unaccountable violations, adding that Qatar recognizes that non-compliance with international law hinders the achievement of true justice.
Regarding the situation in Lebanon, HE Dr. Al Khulaifi affirmed that ending the presidential vacancy is a positive step, expressing Qatar's hope for enhanced security and stability through the completion of state institutions, reiterating the State of Qatar's continued support for Lebanon.
His Excellency also highlighted Qatar's role in Afghanistan, emphasizing that the key lesson learned is that stability lies in dialogue and understanding.
HE Dr. Al Khulaifi concluded by reaffirming that Germany is a strategic partner for Qatar, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in energy, economy, and international development, which strengthens bilateral partnerships between the two countries.
