Marco Verratti signs €45 million deal with Al Arabi
Marco Verratti, an Italian national team player, arrived in Doha on Monday evening, edging closer to a €45 million move from Paris Saint-Germain to Al Arabi in Qatar. The 30-year-old midfielder, who was not in PSG coach Luis Enrique's plans for this season, is set to undergo a medical in Doha today. While there were previous links to Saudi Pro League teams Al Hilal and Al Ahli, no deal materialized in time. According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer agreement has been reached with the Qatari side.
Turning 31 on November 5, Verratti initially joined PSG in the summer of 2012 after departing from Serie B team Pescara. Despite PSG recently extending his contract until June 2026, it has lasted for just under nine months. This transfer will make Verratti one of the most prominent footballers to join Qatar Stars League teams in recent memory.
