Minister of Education and Higher Education emphasizes on the theme "Education is everyone's responsibility"
As part of Qatar's observance of the International Day of Education, Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi visited several public schools to engage in activities and events organized by schools to commemorate the day, under the theme "Education is everyone's responsibility."
Highlighting the significance of collaboration among schools, families, and various segments of society to achieve educational goals, the Minister interacted with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators, emphasizing the complementary role each plays.
The events were notable for the high turnout, student engagement, and participation of parents who expressed their delight for their children. Activities included theatrical performances in astronomy, diverse scientific experiments in science laboratories, awareness workshops on healthy nutrition and proper farming methods, among others.Â
The Minister visited Al Falah Primary School for Girls, Umm Al Qura Primary School for Boys, and Qatar Preparatory School for Girls, engaging in encouraging conversations with students.
Regarding the significance of the International Day of Education, Khamis Al Mohannadi, the Principal of Umm Al Qura Primary School for Boys, stated, "We aim to leverage this day to expand communication channels and partnerships with parents, motivating them to contribute to school initiatives that support our students in their educational journey and strengthen the relationship between schools and parents."
Mona Hassan Al Abdallah, Principal of Al Falah Primary School for Girls, emphasized Qatar's pioneering role in education and the Ministry's emphasis on the shared collective responsibility toward education. She stated, "On International Education Day, all parties involved in the educational process become like teachers eager to exchange knowledge with our students."
The International Day of Education, endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly, aims to underscore the individual's right to education, eliminate poverty, secure a promising future, honor teachers and learners, achieve societal equality, and foster understanding of different cultures.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education actively supports International Education Day events and activities, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to enhance the educational process and promote community partnership. The celebration of this day will continue until January 25, 2024.
