The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the issuance of 2,688 commercial registrations and the renewal of 10,334 commercial registrations during the second quarter of this year.
In a post on its official social media platform X, the ministry said that it issued 3,974 commercial licenses in the commerce sector and processed 1,703 requests for additions and modifications to commercial activities.
The ministry also revealed the completion of 591 requests for the addition of new branches and conducted 85 inspection campaigns to ensure the validity of commercial records and licenses.
Additionally, the ministry disclosed that 284 patent applications were locally filed, 2,485 trademark applications were deposited, and 1,351 trademarks were registered.
In the consumer sector, the ministry issued 3,318 licenses for promotional offers, discounts, and prize draws, and conducted 6,741 inspection campaigns to monitor compliance with consumer protection laws.
In the industrial sector, the ministry received 130 requests for increasing and modifying production data for factories, renewed preliminary approval for eight requests, and renewed 87 industrial operation licenses (registration certificates).
