Ministry officials Showcasing the New Website
HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani inaugurated Sunday the official website of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (www.mecc.gov.qa), in the presence of Ministry's officials.
HE the Minister of Environment and Climate Change stated that the new website reflects the Ministry's keenness on rapid and easy communication with the public, after the establishment of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change pursuant to Amiri Decision No. 57 of 2021 setting the competencies of the ministries.
HE the Minister added that the website will support the Ministry's efforts to achieve Qatar National Strategy for Environment and Climate Change, which is one of the main pillars for realizing Qatar National Vision 2030, and is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
HE Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani stressed the importance of continuous communication with all global and regional organizations and bodies concerned with environmental affairs and climate change, in the context of the distinguished position that the State of Qatar has achieved as an active and vital member in this field.
For his part, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Farhoud Hadi Al Hajri said the new website is characterized by the ease of use, flexibility and distinctive design in accordance with the latest standards used in international websites, and provides easy access to services and information related to the Ministry.
He added that the website contains many sections and windows introducing the tasks and competencies of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and its affiliated sectors and departments; noting that preparations are underway to launch the English version of the site to serve non-Arabic speakers, in order to achieve comprehensiveness in providing services to all target groups from different segments of society.
The new website constitute a source of information for many researchers and scholars interested in environmental affairs and climate change, as it is characterized by an advanced search engine with many technical characteristics, making it easier for the browser to obtain the required information or service, in addition to the "media center" section that highlights the most important news and the Ministry's events. The website will also highlight environmental awareness, community participation and volunteering in the various events implemented by the Ministry.
The Ministry's website will keep pace with the developments in the field of environment and climate change, and the effective use of information technology; aiming to support the efforts and services of the Ministry, and enhance the mechanisms of effective and rapid communication with the public.Â
