MoECC Detects Over 332 Environmental Violations Across Qatar

DOHA: Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has detected more than 330 environmental violations during extensive inspection campaigns carried out across the country as part of its efforts to strengthen environmental protection and enforce compliance with national regulations. 

The violations were identified through field inspections conducted by the ministry's specialized teams, targeting activities that pose risks to the environment and natural resources. The campaigns focused on ensuring compliance with environmental laws, preventing illegal practices, and preserving Qatar's ecosystems. 

MoECC said the inspections covered a range of environmental sectors and included monitoring licensed facilities, industrial sites, and activities requiring environmental permits. Authorities took the necessary legal measures against offenders in accordance with the country's environmental legislation. 

The ministry stressed that the inspections form part of its ongoing strategy to enhance environmental governance, improve regulatory oversight, and promote sustainable development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. It also highlighted the role of its recently launched electronic inspection system, which enables inspectors to issue inspection orders, document reports, monitor violations, and accelerate enforcement procedures through digital technologies. 

MoECC urged individuals, companies, and institutions to comply with environmental regulations and adopt responsible practices that help protect biodiversity and conserve Qatar's natural resources, reaffirming that inspection campaigns will continue across the country to ensure environmental compliance.
