As the Official Automotive Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, Nissan displayed the Future of Mobility at its first activation at the World’s Greatest Show
Nissan, the Official Automotive Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, demonstrated its vision for the Future of Mobility with an exclusive showcase of the Ariya, the brand’s all-electric crossover. Making its first regional appearance at Nissan’s inaugural activation at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Ariya symbolizes Nissan’s forward-looking journey into the future of electrification and sustainable mobility.
Held at Expo’s Dubai Exhibition Center, the event – named after Nissan’s “Let’s Move” campaign - was led by Joni Paiva, Divisional Vice President for Africa, Middle East, India and Oceania (AMIO), Nissan Motor Corporation and Thierry Sabbagh, Managing Director, Nissan Middle East. In addition, regional business partners and VIPs, along with Nissan and Expo 2020 Dubai executives, in addition to media and influencers from across the region, were in attendance. Guests were taken on a visually compelling journey through Nissan’s ongoing contribution to the world across Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity– echoing the three sub-themes of Expo 2020 Dubai.
Speaking at the event, Joni Paiva, Divisional Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Africa, Middle East, India & Oceania, Nissan Motor Corporation said: “As we remain committed to our purpose of driving innovation to enrich people’s lives, Expo 2020 Dubai is the perfect platform to showcase the Nissan Ariya, to signal what is yet to come in the future of smart and sustainable mobility. This event is a fitting start to our participation at Expo 2020 Dubai, and we are excited to bring our global expertise, technological know-how, and regional knowledge to visitors and help accelerate the shift to a safer, smarter, more sustainable, and connected world.”
Sharing the brand’s story and highlighting how tech innovations enhance the quality of life for all, the event also showcased Nissan’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality across the company’s operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050. This goal has also guided the establishment of the recently announced Nissan Intelligent Factory at its Tochigi Plant and EV36Zero, a £1 billion Electric Vehicle (EV) Hub in the UK with a 360-degree solution for zero-emission motoring.
Complementing Nissan’s global expertise is the brand’s rich legacy in the region. It aims to draw on this heritage to focus on delivering dynamic products that cater to evolving customer needs. Nissan also enhanced its suite of connected mobility features in the region by introducing ProPILOT earlier in the year. The partnership with Expo 2020 Dubai provides a unique opportunity for Nissan to cement its leadership position within the region’s mobility ecosystem as a brand making innovative automotive experiences accessible to all.
Thierry Sabbagh, Managing Director at Nissan Middle East, said: “Expo 2020 Dubai provides an unmatched platform for Nissan to bring to the fore its leadership role and longstanding focus on innovative, human-centric mobility solutions. Our heritage in the region continues to move us forward, and we are proud to be associated with an event of this scale that brings to life decisions and ideas that will shape our collective future. By daring to do what others don’t, we are proud to be in a position to share our global vision for the future of mobility with our trusted partners and customers across the region.”
Sholto Douglas-Home, Chief Sales & Marcomms Officer, Expo 2020 Dubai, commented: “One of Expo 2020 Dubai’s key missions is to create dialogue around a more sustainable future in the area of mobility. Innovation in mobility is both transforming the way we live today and driving human progress into tomorrow and beyond. We look forward to seeing Nissan help lead conversations that will shape the future of mobility at Expo 2020.”
Through the course of the world fair, Nissan will narrate its story by hosting, endorsing, and participating in various activations at Expo 2020 Dubai. In addition to several digital engagements and tailored content developed specifically for the exhibition on the Nissan NEXT website, Nissan is powering Expo 2020 Dubai with more than 600 vehicles, showcasing the brand’s latest technology and innovation.
