Ooredoo thanks their amazing sponsors for the support they received for The Doha Marathon

Ooredoo held their last press conference about the Doha Marathon being held on 20th January 2023. They thanked their amazing sponsors for all the support they received for making this event possible. A few last-minute details were also shared to ensure everyone is prepared to race. 

Moza Khalid Al Muhannadi, the Director of CSR, Sponsorship, and Media at Ooredoo shared that the event is a complete sell-out with 8,000 runners taking part. The first steps of the marathon begin at the  Parade Pavilion, The Emir’s Grandstand - Corniche with the participants running towards Katara, Lusail, and then back to Corniche. The total prize pool is QAR 1 million and every participant will receive a medal too. The schedule is as given below:

Full Marathon – 6:15 AM

Half Marathon – 7 AM

10 km category – 8:30 AM

5 km category – 9:30 AM

1 km category for kids – 10:00 AM

The 2023 Doha marathon will also have a raffle draw with an SUV as the grand prize. Participants who complete the 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km categories will be eligible to take part and have a chance to win a Volkswagen T-Roc.

Moza Khalid Al Muhannadi said: “We’re rightfully proud that the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo is consistently one of the most popular events on Doha’s calendar, year after year, but this pride must be shared with our invaluable sponsors, without whom we would be unable to present the race. Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, the President of Qatar Athletic Federation, said: “The preparations for the marathon have been completed after everyone made great efforts to present the best possible event. We invite everyone to come along, whether running or spectating, to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, especially since the race this year will also witness the participation of a number of elite runners. Good luck to all the participants in the race, and we hope everyone has an awesome day!”
