PHCC Expands Weekend Healthcare Network With Al Waab Center

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has confirmed that Al Waab Health Center will begin offering weekend services starting next Friday, strengthening access to medical care across Qatar.

The move is part of PHCC’s wider strategy to bring healthcare closer to communities, improve service availability, and ensure patients receive timely care during weekends.

With Al Waab added, the number of health centers operating on weekends has now reached 22, covering regions including Musheireb, Al Sheehaniya, Muaither, Al Ruwais, Umm Salal, Madinat Khalifa, Leabaib, Al Khor, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Al Matar, West Bay, Omar Bin Al Khattab, Al Wakra, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Thumama, Al Mashaf, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, Al Wajba, and Al Jemailiya (on‑call basis).

PHCC also highlighted that urgent care capacity continues to be reinforced through a network of 15 health centers providing 24‑hour services for adults, designed to manage non‑life‑threatening cases and ease pressure on hospital emergency departments.

In addition, patients can access an urgent telephone consultation service from Sunday to Thursday via the hotline 16000, which provides medical guidance and referrals based on individual needs.

Currently, PHCC operates 31 health centers nationwide, forming a key pillar of Qatar’s community healthcare system.
