High School Students
Qatar University's (QU) College of Education organized an event to attract high school students to the teaching profession in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.
The event included introducing the high school students to the College of Education and its various departments, programs, and majors, and encouraging them to choose the appropriate specialization based on their future goals, tendencies, and interests.
The students were also introduced to the 'Tomouh' program launched by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education years ago in cooperation with QU, to fill teaching positions in government schools with qualified national cadres.
HE Dean of the College of Education Dr. Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani confirmed in her speech during the event that the college has a plan aimed at attracting high school students to the teaching profession, adding that this event serves the college's goals.
She noted the importance of the teaching profession and its role in shaping the future and raising generations. She also talked about the college's motto and the five pillars it set to embody the motto, which includes the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and social aspects.
The college seeks to promote these values in its programs and enable students to understand and apply these values during their studies, in addition to promoting cooperative education and student-centered learning, she added.
In turn, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the College of Education Dr. Aisha Mohammad Al Ahmadi pointed out in a press statement the importance of introducing students to the teaching profession, the role of the college in qualifying teachers, and the nature of programs and majors available to students to engage in the educational field.
