Qatar Airways Expands Global Connectivity with Additional Flights Ahead of Summer Surge
Qatar Airways, crowned the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2024, is ramping up its global flight network by increasing services to 11 key destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. This expansion aims to meet rising travel demand and enhance connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori stated, “Qatar Airways’ vast network of global destinations is complemented with robust flight frequencies for the benefit of our passengers. The new additions further reflect our commitment to fostering worldwide connectivity and elevating passengers’ travel experience with our award-winning hub, Hamad International Airport (DOH) – voted World’s Best Airport and World’s Best Airport Shopping by Skytrax in 2024.”
Increased Flight Frequencies:
Europe: London Heathrow (49 to 56 weekly), Amsterdam (7 to 11), Madrid (14 to 17; jointly operated with Iberia increasing from 21 to 24), Larnaca (7 to 10).
Middle East: Sharjah (21 to 35), Damascus (3 to 14).
Africa: Tunis (10 to 12), Dar Es Salaam-Kilimanjaro (3 to 7), Entebbe (7 to 11), Maputo-Durban (5 to 7).
Asia: Tokyo Narita (11 to 14).
This strategic expansion comes ahead of the peak summer travel season, reinforcing Qatar Airways’ position as a leader in global aviation. The airline also recently announced plans for a significant wide-body aircraft order to support its long-term growth strategy.
With a network spanning over 170 destinations, Qatar Airways continues to strengthen its global footprint, ensuring passengers enjoy seamless and flexible travel options worldwide.
