HE Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security of Nepal Krishna Kumar affirmed that the State of Qatar was able to achieve a qualitative leap in terms of developing legislation, laws, and regulations related to the labor market, which was reflected in the improvement of the work environment in the State of Qatar, pointing out to the development of Qatari legislation and laws to be in line with the leading labor laws in various countries of the world.
In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency pointed out that the priority of the Nepalese Labor Ministry in the current period is to increase the workforce in the domestic and hospitality services sector inside Qatar, noting that a training center will be opened in Nepal to qualify domestic workers before they work in the Qatari market.
His Excellency noted the existence of an agreement to reopen the recruitment of Nepalese workers in the field of domestic workers, pointing out that there are intensive procedures with the Qatari Ministry of Labor to start the entry of Nepalese workers in the field of domestic workers.
He affirmed the Nepalese government's interest in strengthening cooperation with the State of Qatar in terms of increasing Nepalese labor, pointing out that many competencies in Nepal can be benefited from in the Qatari market in various sectors and fields of work.
He noted that there are training centers to qualify workers in Nepal before bringing them to the Qatari market, to increase efficiency, pointing out that there is continuous coordination with the concerned authorities in the State of Qatar concerning facilitating procedures for the recruitment of Nepalese workers.
HE the Nepalese Minister of Labor affirmed the existence of continuous cooperation between the Nepalese Ministry of Labor and the Qatari Ministry of Labor to reach distinguished results in recruiting Nepalese labor in the Qatari market in various fields, pointing out that Qatari legislation achieves better protection for the workforce in the Qatari market.
On Qatar's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, he explained that the preparations made by the State of Qatar are impressive, both in terms of stadiums and infrastructure, noting that the Nepalese labor contributed to building the infrastructure of the World Cup, which is a source of pride for Nepal.
