Premier Padel 2024 calendar
Premier Padel, the leading official professional padel tour, has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024 calendar, showcasing a global expansion of the sport. The upcoming season is set to feature 25 tournaments across 18 countries and 5 continents, demonstrating Premier Padel's dedication to reaching new markets and fostering global growth.
Commencing on February 26, 2024, with the Riyadh P1 as part of Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Season, the season will kick off a series of events, including the Qatar Major and tournaments in Mexico, Venezuela, Brussels, and Andalusia throughout April and May. Premier Padel will make its inaugural visits to Paraguay and Chile in South America before returning to Europe in June and July, followed by a mid-season break in August.
The season will resume with events in Europe and the Middle East, introducing new locations such as Rotterdam, Dusseldorf, Sweden, Dubai, and Kuwait City. The Milan P1 will mark the conclusion of the main part of the season, maintaining its tradition from the past two years. The 2024 calendar will culminate with the Premier Padel Tour Finals, a historic event set to take place in Barcelona from December 18 to 22, where the top-ranked pairs will compete for the final trophy of the 2024 Premier Padel season.
Since its launch in 2022, Premier Padel has rapidly grown to become one of the fastest-growing tours in the world of sports. The first year saw over 500 male players from around the globe competing in iconic venues, including Stade Roland-Garros in Paris. In March 2023, the tour welcomed over 110 leading professional female players, further solidifying its global presence.
Premier Padel has secured multi-year broadcast agreements covering 180+ countries and reaching over 150 million households. The first two seasons garnered almost 25 million views on YouTube. In a groundbreaking move, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), in collaboration with the International Padel Federation (FIP), acquired the World Padel Tour (WPT) in August 2023, unifying it under the Premier Padel banner for the 2024 season, governed by FIP.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Premier Padel, expressed excitement about the unified tour's debut season, emphasizing the focus on players and the overall padel ecosystem. Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, highlighted the global expansion and the tour's role as padel's first truly global professional tour.
The Professional Padel Association (PPA) and the International Padel Players Association (IPPA) Boards also expressed enthusiasm, with a commitment to elevating padel's international prominence and contributing to the sport's growth. Overall, 2024 is anticipated to be a landmark year for Premier Padel, continuing its trajectory as one of the most exciting tours in global sports.
