This August, Qatar Museums welcomes visitors of all ages to enjoy a vibrant lineup of cultural activities aimed at sparking imagination and creativity.

From immersive summer camps and interactive art workshops to storytelling sessions and expert-led talks, the month’s programme promises an inspiring journey through art, design, and heritage. Visitors can also look forward to exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences, digital art camps, and innovative design events—making August a month full of exploration and artistic engagement.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

Throughout August, Mathaf offers engaging experiences blending digital art with hands-on creativity.

  • Realms of Rhythm Workshop
    August 2 & September 6 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    Dive into a fusion of sound, movement, and visual art. This session channels music into creative expression through guided activities, curated soundscapes, and reflective discussions. Participants will explore how rhythm enhances artistic inspiration—perfect for anyone with a passion for music or art.
  • Digital Art Summer Camp
    August 3, 5, 7, 10, 12 & 14 | 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    Ideal for all experience levels, this three-week programme introduces participants to digital art forms such as illustration, graphic design, animation, and painting. Through tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate, attendees will gain hands-on skills in sketching, colour theory, and digital creativity.
  • Mirror Portrait Workshop
    August 27 | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
    Participants will practice self-portraiture using mirrors, learning how to observe facial details and emotions. Guided by an instructor, this workshop promotes both artistic skill and personal exploration—whether you aim for realism or abstract styles.

  • Design Your Dream House Workshop
    August 2 | 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM
    Young participants will explore architectural creativity by designing colourful cardboard dream homes, learning basic design principles and presenting their imaginative models. Open to children aged 6–10.

MIA presents cultural, educational, and family-friendly experiences blending tradition with creativity.

  • Secret Banquet Escape Room

    Explore a unique escape room inspired by historical Islamic figures. Participants solve puzzles rooted in culinary arts, calligraphy, medicine, and travel traditions to gain access to a mythical royal feast.

Tasweer’s creative summer camp fuses photography, storytelling, and zine-making.

Celebrating a Year of Milestones

In 2025, Qatar Museums marks its 20th anniversary while the National Museum of Qatar celebrates 50 years. These celebrations are part of Evolution Nation—an 18-month campaign honouring the country’s vibrant cultural journey, from the founding of its first national museum to the dynamic, multidisciplinary institutions that define Qatar’s cultural scene today.
