The State of Qatar is participating in the second Global Disability Summit, which began its work Wednesday in the presence of 800 high-level personalities, including state leaders, heads of government and ministers from various countries of the world.
The virtual summit is jointly hosted by the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Ghana, and the International Disability Alliance.
The delegation of the State of Qatar to the Summit is headed by HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.
The two-day summit will discuss a number of issues and topics aimed at revitalizing global efforts to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and accelerating the efforts aimed at enhancing global and governmental awareness of the rights of this category.
The first summit was held in London in 2018, and sought to shed light on the issues of discrimination and social stigma against one billion people with disabilities around the world.Â
