Arab Economic and Social Council
The State of Qatar took part in the extraordinary session of the Arab Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level, held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, with the participation of heads and members of the Arab delegations.
The State of Qatar's delegation was headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah.
The agenda deliberated on an array of economic and social items, foremost of which were the progress made in fulfilling the requirements of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA), the developments concerning the Arab Customs Union, and the Arab Food Security Strategy 2025–2030.
The meetings were held ahead of the preparation for the 34th session and the 5th development summit that are poised to convene in Iraq in May 2025. (QNA)
