At the Global Refugee Forum, Qatar pledges $50 million to assist Palestine
At the Global Refugee Forum hosted by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees on December 13, 2023, H.E. Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation, declared Qatar's commitment of USD 50 million to address the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories. This pledge aims to aid refugees, displaced individuals, the injured, orphans, and other affected populations in Gaza.
Additionally, H.E. Al Khater revealed a new initiative on behalf of the Education Above All Foundation. This initiative will provide 100 university scholarships for students from Gaza to pursue their education in Qatar through the Al-Fakhoora program.
