15th International Invention Fair in Kuwait

The Qatar Scientific Club won five coloured medals at the conclusion of its participation in the 15th International Invention Fair of the Middle East, held in the State of Kuwait. The event featured intense competition among 180 inventors from 42 Arab and foreign countries, presenting a total of 230 inventions across various scientific fields.

According to a statement issued by the club Saturday, Qatari inventors secured two gold medals. The first was awarded to Dr. Yousef Al Horr for his invention of a highly efficient hybrid air conditioning system, which also earned him the award of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The second gold medal went to Rashid Ali Ibrahim for his innovative advanced safe incense burner.

Additionally, Qatari inventors won two silver medals. One was awarded to innovators Saleh Al Saadi and Abdulrazzaq Al Fares for their invention, Al-Muwajih, a device designed to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of sample distribution, with an integrated barcode reader for verification and error detection. The other silver medal was secured by inventors Fatima, Amina, Dana Al Kuwari, and Al Zainah Al Mohannadi for their AI-based security system designed to protect military-grade equipment.

The bronze medal was awarded to innovator Mohammed Ali Al Mohannadi for his artificial intelligence health monitoring system for the elderly. This system enables families to remotely track the health conditions of elderly patients and individuals with disabilities through a smart health monitoring system.

Managing Director of Qatar Scientific Club, Sheikh Ali bin Salman Al-Thani, expressed his pride in the achievements of Qatari inventors, praising their ambition, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. He highlighted their outstanding presence at the exhibition, which resulted in these diverse medals. He also noted that Qatar delegation included both experts and innovators, facilitating a successful exchange of knowledge and expertise among participants and exhibition attendees.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Organization for Research and Development, Dr. Yousef Al Horr, commended the efforts of the Qatar Scientific Club in preparing for participation in this prestigious exhibition, the most important of its kind in the Middle East. He added that his participation with his project, after obtaining multiple international patents, ensured an impactful presence and an opportunity to present the invention to judging panels and energy efficiency specialists.

The exhibition's judging panel consists of approximately 60 judges, including academics and experts across various scientific fields. The participating inventions are classified into 22 categories, covering scientific, engineering, medical, transportation, agriculture, security, industrial equipment, sports, educational tools, and other fields. These categories align with the classification system used at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

Qatar participated in the exhibition with five inventions, three of which were presented through Qatar Scientific Club, affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, while the remaining two were submitted through the General Secretariat of the GCC.

Since the early editions of the Middle East Invention Fair, Qatar’s participation has been marked by excellence and success, with its innovators consistently winning top awards and medals. This track record reflects the country's strong presence in scientific and international forums.
