Qatar has removed quarantine for all visitors arriving in the country from Sunday (September 4), Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Public Health announced the update of the travel and return policy for COVID-19, these changes go into force Sep. 4, starting at six o'clock in the evening arrival time in the State of Qatar.

Based on the latest indicators related to COVID-19 in the State of Qatar and the world. The changes have come to facilitate the process of travel and return to the State of Qatar with full commitment to all means that will prevent and protect the community from the threat of the COVID-19 virus.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, the travel and return policy is part of the State's strategy to combat COVID-19, as strict application of the policy has proven to play a very important role in maintaining the decline in covid-19 infection rates in Qatar over the past years.

These changes, include ending the current classification lists (Red List) in use in the country, ending quarantine requirements for all travelers arriving from abroad, and travelers with COVID-19 must undergo quarantine procedures in accordance with the procedures followed in Qatar, when arriving.

The required tests, before travel or after arrival, will continue to be carried out regardless of the vaccination status.

Citizens and residents are subject to rapid antigen (RAT) testing within a period of 24 hours upon arrival in the State of Qatar at one of the health centers affiliated to the primary health care institution or private medical centers approved by the Ministry of Public Health, while visitors should bring a PCR test certificate with a negative result valid for 48 hours or a rapid antigen test (RAT) with a negative result valid for 24 hours, from the date of the scheduled flight to the State of Qatar.
