122 cases of Covid-19 in Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today reported that there are 122 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) and 156 individuals have so far recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 232,425.

Among the new 122 Covid-19 cases, 73 have been infected from the community and 49 contacted the virus while traveling from abroad.

MOPH reported no deaths in the country today, as the total death toll due to the deadly virus stays at 604. 

According to the data, one individual was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the last 24 hours, and therefore 16 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU. 

Six persons were hospitalised due to Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and the overall number of patients in the hospital currently is 68. 

The total number of current active cases in Qatar is 1,866 and the total number of covid positive cases recorded so far in Qatar is 234,895.

5,332 tests were done for the first time in the last 24 hours and a total of 24,373 tests were done during the past 24 hours and the total tests done so far is 2,578,844 tests. 

9,758 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered during the past 24 hours. The overall number of vaccine doses administered since the start of the vaccination campaign is 4,615,678.

What you can do to avoid contacting the virus:

As the cases of Covid-19 increases in the State of Qatar, it is significant for all individual to contribute their effective part in curbing the virus by adhering to the mandatory preventive measures imposed by the government:

•    Maintaining safe and social distances in the public arenas.
•    Avoid close contact in crowded or confined areas where people congregate.
•    Wearing a face mask at all times.
•    Washing and sanitising hands at regular intervals.

Any individual suffering from COVID-19 symptoms must immediately contact the helpline number 16000. This is vital as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
