Qatari and world Olympic champion Mutaz Essa Barshim won first place in the high jump competition in the Zurich round of the IAAF Diamond League today, Thursday.
Barshim succeeded in recording a height of 2.35 meters, as the best height in the competition for the round, leaving second place to New Zealander Hamish Kerr, who recorded 2.33 meters, and Korean Woo Sang-hyeok came in third place, recording 2.31 meters.
Barshim's victory in the Diamond League comes in the wake of winning the bronze medal in the high jump competition at the World Championships in Budapest a few days ago, adding a new achievement to his illustrious career.
