Qatar PM Emphasizes Communication for Palestinian Crisis Resolution
During a joint press conference in Qatar on October 25, 2023, alongside Turkish Foreign Minister H.E. Dr. Hakan Fidan, Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani emphasized the necessity of maintaining open communication channels with relevant parties to achieve a peaceful resolution in the Palestinian crisis.
He expressed the following
"We are certain that the only way to reach a peaceful and immediate solution to this crisis is to keep all channels of communication open with all concerned parties, and that resolving this crisis requires continuous communication and a rapid response to reduce the deterioration of the situation, and we value all regional, international and international efforts in this regard."
He emphasized the significance of the United Nations and international organizations in tackling humanitarian concerns, stating the following:
"We renew our call to our regional and international partners to mobilize international efforts to reach a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue, and we stress the importance of activating the role of the United Nations and international organizations in field work in order to address urgent humanitarian issues, and continuing communication with all parties to secure the release of civilians detained in the Gaza Strip."
H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani reiterated Qatar's condemnation of the suffering endured by the people of Gaza, denouncing it as a collective punishment against its residents. His statement was as follows:
"We affirm the State of Qatar's condemnation of the policy of collective punishment against the Gaza Strip and its residents, which led to the deprivation of more than two million and three hundred thousand Palestinians of their basic needs of water, food, medicine and electricity in flagrant violation of international laws, and we agreed on the importance of ensuring the provision of humanitarian and relief aid to the Strip and resuming the operation of lines. electricity, and allowing the entry of fuel, medicine, and food to the residents of Gaza."
"We affirm our complete refusal to deal with this crisis with double standards. The human spirit we are entrusted with preserving is one. It is not permissible to condemn the killing of civilians here and justify it there. All parties involved in violations of international law must be held accountable, otherwise the logic of force will prevail over the power of logic"
H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani criticized specific statements made by Israeli officials, addressing the matter as follows:
"would like to point out our astonishment and denunciation of the statements of some officials. The Israelis, the agents of accusations against my country, while we continue to make Efforts to secure the release of prisoners and to reduce the escalation. These provocative statements undermine existing efforts and can only be understood in the context of political blackmail and propaganda. It is expected from all parties. Respect the efforts made by Qatar and its companies and help us make them successful."
